Library marketing through blogs

Blogs have been increasingly recognised as marketing tools for libraries. Creating blogs is easy but maintaining them and then making our users to visit them is much more difficult. Marketing itself in the context of libraries is an abstract phenomenon. When we talk of digital space then we have more complication as we are dealing with virtual users.

The need of the hour is to focus on web 2.0 technologies and an attempt shoudl be made to organise as many workshops, seminars, conferences and courses on web 2.0 technologies like podcasting, wikis, social networking, social book marking, rss, blogs, etc.

Library professionals have a natural way of absorbing technologies, especially the ICT ones!
